We are at the heart of Southeast Asia. We are centrally located at the crossroads of Asia and South East Asia, reaching 3.6 billion people within a seven-hour flight radius.
We are a very committed team. This is Singapore’s third time bidding for the World Congress, showing our strong commitment in bringing in the event to South East Asia for the very first time.
We are easy to visit. You could visit Singapore from almost anywhere. More than 100 airlines connect Singapore to over 300 cities worldwide. There is a flight landing or taking off every 90 seconds at our Changi International Airport, voted by Skytrax as the World’s Best Airport for the third consecutive year in 2015.
We welcome everyone. What makes your visit even more convenient is our open visa policy. Nationals from more than 150 countries and territories do not need a visa to come to Singapore. When necessary, it simply takes three to five days to process your visa applications.
We aim for a World Congress for all, with affordable registration fees and travel grants to support students and participants from developing countries.
We want to leave legacies. The Organising Committee will also be planning various local engagement activities, including outreach programmes to Singapore educational institutes, to fully realise the value of the IUPESM World Congress.
We are Asia’s top medical hub. Singapore is Asia’s fastest-growing bio-cluster, having created a genus of research institutes, corporate labs and public hospitals. 7 out of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies, along with the top 10 global medical technology companies, have regional headquarters in Singapore. This makes Singapore a thriving pool of cutting-edge expertise on healthcare and medical sciences, and well-suited to host the IUPESM World Congress.
And have you heard the good news? Lonely Planet has picked Singapore as the world's top travel destination for this year! Our island nation leads the prestigious Best in Travel list in 2015. You can easily enjoy all the unique offerings that make us one of the best travel destinations – multicultural diversity, green urban spaces, and unforgettable food, day and night, in the world’s top city for personal safety (EIU Safe Cities Index 2015).
