WELCOME MESSAGE
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to cordially invite you to the 9ACC to be held during 14 - 17 December 2017 at the University Hall of National University of Singapore in Singapore. The ACC Conference is held every two years in a country in the Asian and Oceanian regions, being an alternate event with the International Cyclodextrin Symposium. The first ACC conference was organized by Society of Cyclodextrins of Japan, which was held in Chiba, Japan on 9th Sep 2002. Cyclodextrins are a family of compounds made up of sugar molecules bound together to form a series of cyclic oligosaccharides. Cyclodextrins have found applications in food, pharmaceutical, drug delivery, and chemical industries, as well as agriculture, environmental, and biomedical engineering. ACC has been focusing on all aspects of cyclodextrin research, aiming to constructing strong partnerships centred in Asian and Oceanian regions, and involving countries from all over the world.
The 9ACC will be co-organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore and the Biomedical Engineering Society (Singapore). The 9ACC is designed to offer a unique opportunity not only to take a critical examination of the milestone achievements in cyclodextrin research, but also for scientists working in various aspects of cyclodextrin research from the world, especially in the Asian and Oceanian regions, to meet and learn from each other, and to foster and enhance collaborative contacts.
The scientific program features contributions from both established and young scientists and engineers, and will provide a platform for representatives from different countries and regions. For PhD students and early-career scientists, come and enhance your experience, and you will have chances to win one of the prestigious Poster Awards supported by the Nagai Foundation of Japan.
Along with the scientific program, please enjoy the Singapore city, also known as the Garden City or Lion City. Unique is the word that best captures Singapore, a dynamic city rich in contrast and color where you will find a harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture. A bridge between the East and the West, Singapore, located in the heart of fascinating Southeast Asia, continues to embrace tradition and modernity today. It is our hope and belief that you will have a wonderful visit to Singapore!
We look forward to seeing you at this exciting conference.
